Are there glass bottles for the soda maker?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer glass bottles. Glass bottles from other manufacturers are not suitable for our system either – this is a deliberate safety decision.

Why no glass bottles?

Soda makers that use glass bottles always have a protective metal shell that holds the glass bottle during carbonation. This shell acts as shrapnel protection in case a bottle bursts during the cycle.

With up to 9 bar of pressure during carbonation, this can cause serious injuries if glass shards fly through the kitchen.

Glass bottles can develop hairline cracks due to manufacturing, ageing or normal use that aren’t visible from the outside. This is especially dangerous for children, who are usually at eye level with the device.

We therefore strongly advise against the use of glass bottles in any free-hanging soda maker. That’s why there will never be a glass bottle from us for the Infinity or Infinity-S.
